While not all churches in the Winwick deanery voted to continue on the process towards a Larger Single Parish, all remain committed to retaining close and collaborative relationships as we serve our local communities.

To that end, Fr Michael Vyse from St James Haydock and Fiona Glover from St Thomas Golborne regularly attend Navigation Team meetings as observersto ensure good communication between the LSP and other parishes of Winwick Deanery.

Larger Single Parish Churches

11 of our deanery churches have voted to work towards the formation of a larger single parish, to be formed in early 2028.  These local worshipping communities will retain their own individual name, theology and expression of worship, but will share governance and support services to release clergy and lay people into more mission and ministry.  The churches who are working towards this aim are now what we are calling 'acting as if' we are one parish.  By clicking on the image of the church you can view their 'Church Near You' site for further information about them. The churches are:

St Luke's, Lowton

St Mary's, Lowton

All Saints, Glazebury

St Helen's, Hollinfare

Newchurch, Culcheth

Christ Church, Croft

St Oswald's, Winwick

Emmanuel, Wargrave

St Michael and all angels, Burtonwood

St John the baptist, Earlstown

St Peter's, Newton-le-Willows
